ViASIC Appoints Lynn Hayden to Board of Directors

Research Triangle Park, North Carolina. - April 12, 2006 - ViASIC, the leading provider in standard metal fabric for IC design, today announced that Lynn Hayden, former founder of Coiltronics, has been elected to its Board of Directors and will serve as Chairman of the Board.

Mr. Hayden founded Coiltronics, Inc. in 1977 while attending Central Michigan University. As president and CEO, he directed the company for 20 years as it grew from a small regional supplier of relay coils to an international manufacturer and supplier of high-frequency electro-magnetic components. At the time of its sale to a large multi-national corporation in 1997, Coiltronics was the largest supplier in its market segment in the United States.
“We’re pleased that Lynn has agreed to chair our board and we look forward to working with him in guiding the Company’s future direction,” said Max Lloyd, CEO of ViASIC. “Lynn’s financial expertise and knowledge of the electronics markets is a tremendous value to ViASIC and our customer base. His knowledge of product introduction, manufacturing and distribution are critical assets as ICs built with standard-metal methodologies change how electronics systems come to market.”
ViaMask, the leading standard-metal solution, produces the fastest time to silicon and delivers one-mask reconfigurable systems to ViASIC customers. Reconfigurable systems built with ViaMask libraries offer faster clocks and double the density of other standard-metal fabrics. Compared to gate-array-like fabrics, ViaMask produces faster manufacturing times and easier design closure. Using a standard-metal fabric, re-spins are no longer an issue, allowing for rapid product innovation.
